Mardin Soap and its history

This soap is increasingly hard to find in Europe; It is made in a small town called Mardin, in southeastern Turkey. The soap is made from pure virgin olive oil and wild pistachio oil, and has a wonderful fresh scent and is available in two versions: the green Mardin soap with wild pistachio oil and the orange Mardin soap with wild pistachio oil and beta-carotene.

The Green Mardin Soap with Wild Pistachio Oil: This soap is rich in vitamin E and aims to hydrate sensitive, dry skin and dry skin conditions such as ezcema. Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant that neutralises the effect of free radicals, which are atoms that cause collagen damage, dryness, wrinkles and fine lines. The soap nourishes and softens both the hair and scalp. Pistachio oil contains high amounts essential fatty acids to protect the skin from premature ageing (oxidation) and nourish and replenish the skin cells.

The Orange Mardin Soap with Wild Pistachio Oil and Beta-carotene: This soap is rich in oleic acid which is a fatty acid that helps to maintain the health of the cell membrane. Oleic acid contains a high concentration of omega 9, which plumps, smooths and nourishes the skin. Beta-carotene helps to repair, heal and sooth the skin from our environment.
